Toutefois, ces traitements peuvent perdre de leur efficacit\u00e9 avec le temps et s\u2013av\u00e8rent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement inefficaces lorsque la perte de vision est d\u00e9j\u00e0 avanc\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une nouvelle \u00e9tude men\u00e9e par des chercheurs en Chine, publi\u00e9e dans la revue <em>Stem Cell Reports<\/em>, propose une approche alternative : retirer les vaisseaux anormaux et transplanter des cellules r\u00e9tiniennes d\u00e9riv\u00e9es de cellules souches dans l\u2013objectif de r\u00e9parer les tissus endommag\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2013\u00e9tude, men\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s de dix patients, a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que ceux ayant subi une ablation compl\u00e8te des vaisseaux pr\u00e9sentaient une am\u00e9lioration de la structure r\u00e9tinienne. Leur vision est demeur\u00e9e stable ou s\u2013est am\u00e9lior\u00e9e sur une p\u00e9riode d\u2013un an, avec peu d\u2013effets secondaires. Ces r\u00e9sultats sugg\u00e8rent que les cellules transplant\u00e9es ont surv\u00e9cu et amorc\u00e9 une r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration partielle de la r\u00e9tine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En revanche, les patients ayant seulement subi une ablation partielle ont continu\u00e9 \u00e0 souffrir d\u2013h\u00e9morragies, d\u2013inflammation, et n\u2013ont observ\u00e9 aucune am\u00e9lioration visuelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bien que prometteuse, cette approche devra \u00eatre valid\u00e9e par des \u00e9tudes cliniques de plus grande envergure afin de confirmer son efficacit\u00e9 et sa s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00c0 propos de Vaincre la&nbsp;c\u00e9cit\u00e9&nbsp;Canada<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Vaincre la&nbsp;c\u00e9cit\u00e9&nbsp;Canada (VCC) est le premier bailleur de fonds priv\u00e9 de la recherche en sant\u00e9 de la vision au Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous donnons de l\u2013espoir aux Canadiennes et Canadiens en ciblant les recherches les plus prometteuses, susceptibles d\u2013aboutir \u00e0 des traitements et \u00e0 la gu\u00e9rison des maladies occasionnant la&nbsp;c\u00e9cit\u00e9. Nous r\u00e9coltons et g\u00e9rons des fonds destin\u00e9s \u00e0 soutenir ces recherches essentielles visant \u00e0 r\u00e9tablir la vue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au cours de nos 45 ann\u00e9es d\u2013existence, nous avons investi plus de 40 millions de dollars pour appuyer la recherche en sant\u00e9 de la vision partout au Canada. Voil\u00e0 qui repr\u00e9sente plus de 200 subventions de recherche s\u2013\u00e9tant traduites par plus de 600 d\u00e9couvertes dans des domaines comme la recherche sur les cellules souches, les th\u00e9rapies neuroprotectrices, les innovations technologiques, les produits pharmaceutiques et les th\u00e9rapies g\u00e9niques. Nous nous engageons en outre \u00e0 nouer des partenariats pour financer la recherche en sant\u00e9 de la vision au Canada et dans le monde. Ces partenariats nous ont permis de d\u00e9bloquer plus de 10 millions de dollars au profit de la recherche.
