A French agency recommends zero exposure to 3D movies and video games for children under six years of age, and limiting usage of these devices for kids under 13.

The Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l'alimentation, de l'environnement et du travail (a French governmental agency dealing with sanitary safety in food, the environment and at work) advises that 3D technology does not allow the eyes to converge and accommodate at the same distance when perceiving depth and relief. Visualizing 3D images accelerates the onset of eye fatigue, in addition to causing symptoms ranging from peri-ocular pain, dry eyes or visual disorders, to headaches or poor concentration.

More severe symptoms related to the vergence-accommodation conflict of the eyes could develop in children under six, due to the immaturity of their visual system.
